Digital Directories
for Office Buildings
In recent years, office buildings have begun to make the change
from static directory boards to digital directories for a couple
of reasons. Property managers recognize the time savings that can
be achieved by offering digital versions of these directories, and
they also understand that digital signage better represents the
building by giving a more modern look to the lobby area. TTSS provides
digital directory systems for facilities of all sizes, with both
touchscreen and non-touch (passive) LCD models.
Touchscreens vs. Passive
Digital Directories
What kind of options do you have? The first decision to be made
is whether to install a touchscreen or non-touch LCD system. Touchscreen
systems are perfect for large buildings with multiple tenants. The
touchscreens allow the building visitor to look up a tenant or occupant
name quickly by touching a screen keyboard and entering the first
few letters of a tenant name. Passive LCD systems fit the bill when
buildings have fewer tenants who can be listed on screens that will
scroll through listings. Large screen passive displays have a great
advantage for lobby renovations. Very often, building managers are
seeking to replace existing static directories with digital signage
and TTSS has been successful in working with these buildings and
local sign companies to develop new directory structures that complement
lobby surroundings.

Screen Sizes
TTSS provides multiple alternatives
in LCD screen sizes for digital building directories. The great
majority of touchscreen directory systems are delivered in 19" or
32" diagonal LCD systems. However, these two sizes may not fit your
particular needs. That is why TTSS also offers 15", 17" and 42"
diagonal touchscreen systems. All of these systems are available
for mounting in walls, security desks, or kiosks. For the passive
directories, TTSS can provide 32", 40", 46" and 57" diagonal LCD
screens. These systems are typically wall-mounted, often as replacements
for existing static directories, but they can be desk mounted as
well.

Custom and Template Systems
TTSS offers a variety of different
configurations of wall-mounted, desk-mounted and kiosk directory
solutions for any type of lobby situation. In most situations, a
standard directory will fit the
bill, but TTSS does have the capability to create custom digital
directory systems as well. Click on this

directory systems.

Kiosk Systems
If the decision is made to move forward with a kiosk mounted touchscreen
directory, TTSS can provide multiple options in this regard. Different
lobby environments will suggest different styles of kiosk enclosures,
and TTSS can recommend and provide a kiosk that fits your needs.
Modern steel and glass structures may require an angular stainless
steel kiosk, while more classic buildings might need a more subdued
wooden enclosure. Your TTSS representative can help you make these
decisions by showing you various alternatives. We have also worked
with architects and designers to create special "one off" kiosk
systems for very specialized lobby requirements. Let's take a look
at some current kiosk offerings.

Passive LCD Systems
What do we mean by passive LCD systems? These are essentially non-touch
LCD screens. Quite often, existing office buildings have large,
backlit building directories that are difficult to maintain and
are coming to the end of their useful life. This is a prime opportunity
to replace these aging sign systems with an easy-to-use LCD directory
system from both the building visitor and property management perspective.
TTSS has worked with several sign companies and building clients
to produce LCD enclosures to replace the existing directories and
still complement the lobby environment. Click on the image below
