Touchscreen Kiosks for Court Applications
One of our most successful market offerings, from a client perspective,
is in the courthouse arena. Very often people with business in the
courts know that they are there for a particular trial, hearing,
or meeting with court authorities, but there are unsure about the
time or location of their appointment. This is especially important
in courthouse applications because of the fluid nature of the scheduling
within the court.
TTSS has helped several courts by
developing both interactive and non-interactive solutions for these
court challenges. Let's take one courthouse application and examine
the solution that was developed.
The Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of
New York recently renovated its building, and took
the opportunity to upgrade their public facing information
systems. TTSS collaborated with the Court and various
construction groups to provide several touchscreen
systems in the courthouse lobby. Visitors to the
courthouse can now interrogate the touchscreen systems
to find information about their hearings our to
find courthouse personnel and departments.

In addition,
TTSS created non-interactive lobby screens that
display the courthouse hearings for the day, the
tie of the hearings, and the location of the hearings.
Each of the bankruptcy court's hearing rooms also
has a digital sign in the hallway outside of the
courtroom. The docket for that judge and day appears
on that screen, with the hearings rolling off of
the list as the end time of the hearing passes.
From the Court's perspective, perhaps the best feature
of the systems is the docket data update capability.
Each time the court scheduling software is manually
updated to reflect the changing court schedule,
the TTSS systems sense that change and automatically
update all interactive and non-interactive screens
with the new information. This has proven to be
a real time saver for court personnel as well as
courthouse visitors.
